From the academic year 2074/75, Tribhuvan University has offered a Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA) program. At the initial phase, this program was established in six (6) Tribhuvan University component campuses, each with 35 seats. Currently, 120 colleges with Tribhuvan University affiliation offer a BCA curriculum. TU’s BCA program lasts four years. The curriculum is organized into semesters. It will be managed by the Humanities and Social Sciences faculties.
Why BCA?
The goal of Tribhuvan University’s BCA program is to generate high-quality computer application users and developers. The Bachelor of Arts in Computer Application (BCA) curriculum is completed over the course of eight semesters (four academic years). Each school year begins in September and ends in February. The Bachelor of Arts in Computer Application (BCA) program uses English as the medium of teaching and assessment.
Eligibility
Grades of D+ or above in each subject in grades 11 and 12, with a CGPA of 2.0 or higher
Second division marks in 10+2, PCL, or equivalent in any subject are required.
Students who have completed grade 11 and are awaiting the grade 12 supplemental test (PURAK PARIKSHA) are also eligible. They must, however, present all needed documentation at the time of acceptance.
Job Prospects
System analysts, system managers, project managers, database administrators, system designers, and programmers are among positions that BCA graduates may apply for in IT companies. BCA graduates are continuously in demand in the information and manufacturing industries. Students who complete a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Application are also eligible to study in any of the Management and Information Technology faculties, including MCA, MIT, MBA, and many more.
